HELLO
Rebecca Butler (E-RYT 500) is a yoga teacher, mom, writer, life coach, former studio owner, amateur chef, and fervent animal lover. She recently relocated from Texas to Ojai, CA — a dream come true.
In 1997, a bum knee brought her to the mat; awareness of how incredible she felt after the practice eventually led her to take the leap from corporate America to yoga entrepreneur. She studies constantly — first with Baron Baptiste (350 hours), next with Ana Forrest (350 hours) and later still with Rodney Yee & Colleen Saidman Yee (350 hours).
In Fort Worth, she owned 3 locations of The Sanctuary Yoga Room where she taught classes, workshops, and teacher trainings while writing personal essays for wellness blogs and leading international yoga retreats on the side.
In 2012, she lost one parent to ALS, then the other in 2019. These tragic losses further solidified her commitment to a life of grateful breath and the appreciation of compassionate movement.
Riding horses, hiking, sharing yoga and writing are her sacred rituals.
These days while raising her daughter single handedly, she's getting her Master's at Harvard Extension School in Literary Arts with an emphasis on Creative Writing.
Suffice it to say, she’s over the moon to be a part of Yoga Soup and the Santa Barbara yoga community at large. Her classes will leave you feeling spiritually uplifted, physically satiated and aligned with the essence that is the beautiful being known as the true you.
She teaches to the room. She can teach power yoga, restorative yoga, breathwork, meditation, and mudras. Her most popular workshops over the years have been Avenues of Joy: A Handstand Festival. And Soul Aligning. It depends on the room. She is a certified life coach, published author and student of life.
